These are all fused together into a frame by software and then 19 different AI systems go to work figuring out where drivable road surface is, where signs are, where pedestrians and bicyclists are, and much much more.

Irena Cronin and I are seeing huge shifts coming as autonomous vehicles get to the point where they are driving around San Francisco without humans. The AI or software that controls robots was also very expensive and specialized. We recently started comparing notes and we are seeing the same trends. But it can’t fold laundry.
