Contract fabs like TSMC, Samsung Foundry, and GlobalFoundries will lead the whole industry in terms of CapEx spending, as they will pour in $53 billion in new fabs and equipment (35% of all semiconductor capital spending in 2021). This doesn’t surprise me because in China many people told me that they were waiting for Oppo to make a move with a VR headset. I’m pretty excited by these growing rumors about Samsung because Samsung has always proposed interesting XR devices.
