Apple already made hardware, so it already had the infrastructure to build it and just added XR people on top of this infrastracture, while Facebook could not). In September, the new Facebook Avatars will come and substitute the current Oculus avatars. Apple AR headset may have been delayed to 2025. But it is impressive anyway.

Oculus Go price cut down to $150. Facebook has permanently cut down the price of the Oculus Go to $150 , the same price that made it sell incredibly well on Amazon during the Cyber Monday. There won’t be a physical AWE, but there will be an online one, made through online webinars. Last Oculus Quest update shows hints of an Oculus MR ecosystem. Facebook is continuously updating the Oculus Quest , its most successful device, and this week it has rolled out the runtime v16. More info on my talk here: [link].

Apple ARKit 3.5 It is no mystery that Apple is currently the best mobile augmented reality company, and the latest update to ARKit confirms this. I really can’t wait to see the Apple AR glasses….
