The same luck has not happened to employees at Niantic at Unity. Unity, instead, is firing 4% of its employees, and this may seem weird considering that in the last months it has proceeded to hundred-millions-dollars acquisitions. I’m sure that after April, 20th, the Meta Quest ecosystem will appear even richer than it is now , creating a wider gap with other companies that may think about competing with the Quest, that is Pico, HTC, and even Apple. Unity talked about PlayStation VR 2 at GDC. Unity had a talk about developing for PlayStation VR 2 at GDC 2022.

It should run on top of an M2 chipset, which is much more powerful than the processing unit of the Quest 2, 4K displays per eye with strong HDR (a rumor talks about a 5000-nits display, about which many are lost in the optical path), a quite nice FOV. But the big question is the “how”. How is Apple going to sell this headset?
