One of the first accessories for AR/VR I had the opportunity to work on is the Leap Motion hands tracking controller : I made some cool experiments and prototypes with it and the Oculus Rift DK2. Probably not this year, but next one or in 2021… but it will happen. But what sparks the biggest debates are the controllers , with the thumbsticks that are not perfect and don’t click in all directions. Everyone agrees that they are great controllers, but not everyone agrees on the fact that they are truly revolutionary.

The Reverb was already a very good headset (as you can read in my hands-on impressions ) with good comfort and an astonishing resolution, but it had some problems with the display (mura, red smearing) and with the controllers (classical mediocre WMR tracking). built in to headband Controllers ?—?6DOF pounds (0.55kg) Cable Length: 19.5

Also, Leap Motion tracking or the mixed reality cameras of Varjo XR-3 are not part of this model. Controllers are not included in the box, so you have to buy SteamVR controllers separately. The first shipping batch will happen at the end of 2021. Personal commentary.

Facebook Connect, the most awaited VR event of 2021, happened, and it was not as we expected it to be. The whole event was all about Facebook creating a parent company called Meta that is going to control all the products that until now were in the Facebook’s family, that is Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Oculus, Portal, and all the rest.
