In my opinion , the true error is with the Vive 1 , that will get a price that is higher than the one of all the competitors… and that will cost as much as a Samsung Odyssey, notwithstanding its far lower features. Magic Leap releases its SDK. It is so possible to start creating your Magic Leap application.

So at least the collaboration with Valve is true, but notice that it has not been on the headset, so they got no reference design from Valve, it has just been on the software integration. Rumors already talk about a new AR headset produced by Microsoft in collaboration with Samsung that should substitute it, but we have no sure info about it. They are based on the Atraxa reference design (Image by Road To VR). Samsung AR glasses. Probably the true surprise of the whole show has been Samsung, that during its press conference has teased some AR glasses. Ok Samsung, you have our attention. Neon is a project about realistic avatars by Samsung subsidiary STAR Labs.

This has been a pretty interesting week for me, having spoken at XR Safety Week and Stereopsia, and having published two cool articles about creating innovative SteamVR controllers and using Application SpaceWarp in Unity to almost double the framerate of your application. Microsoft and Samsung may be partnering for an AR device.

This is everything I have been able to find on specifications: Snapdragon 835 VR reference design; Same high-quality lenses of Oculus Go; FOV around 95°-100°; 1600×1440 per eye resolution; 72 FPS; Adjustable IPD; 4 GB ram. We are at the same level of Vive Focus or Vive Pro… probably the display is the same made by Samsung.
