New info on Microsoft abandoning the Hololens 3. Last week we all heard the news about Microsoft abandoning the HoloLens 3, and the denial of it by Alex Kipman and Microsoft itself. I hate how the speculation in the crypto world is risking to ruin what was one of the most interesting open social VR worlds in Europe.

This lets you experience scenes that are a bit more complex than the ones that you can live on Microsoft’s device; The field of view is 40° Horizontal and 30° Vertical. Furthermore, it is not something original to Magic Leap, since I’ve seen Microsoft doing it in VR some years ago. That’s really bad.

In my opinion , the true error is with the Vive 1 , that will get a price that is higher than the one of all the competitors… and that will cost as much as a Samsung Odyssey, notwithstanding its far lower features. But we also know that when in VR, most people just look forward with their eyes. Vive Focus comes to the west.

In Europe, this marketing effort is just starting now, so the penetration is not that high, yet. In the USA, it is almost mainstream; in Europe, it is something for people that have some knowledge of gaming or technology; in South America, is very difficult to get a headset. Eye tracking. HoloLens has been warned.
