In IATA’s 2017 Global Passenger Survey, 85% of those surveyed indicated they would be willing to give up more personal data in exchange for faster process checks and more personalized service at the airport. Around the same time, Vueling, Iberia, and Air Berlin launched smartwatch boarding passes for early Pebble and Samsung smartwatches.
