Sony unveils the new controllers of the PSVR2. One month after the reveal of a “next-gen VR headset for the Playstation” (whose name is not known, but I guess it will be PSVR2), Sony has revealed one important detail of its new VR system: the controllers. The controllers will be given to selected developers very soon.

External tracking devices, cameras, and advanced controllers allow for high-end experiences and get the most out of what’s currently possible in VR. Motion tracking is either done by the smartphone’s sensors or built-in headset sensors; thus, there are no cables hindering free movement. Google Daydream View.

It seems that Mark is still working on that vision, so that in the end, Facebook will be able to do on its devices whatever it wants, without compromises and without control. A company of this kind, with full control and no restrictions, could do great things on the tech side, but very bad things on the privacy side. I hate this.

The documentation was the same as before, if not for the fact that in the page about headset Input page, there was also a reference to “Oculus Jedi” controllers. I’ve used Google search to find all the pages with references to Del Mar in the Oculus website, and all the docs are identical to the previous versions.
