Connecticut naval museum Mystic Seaport is opening an exhibit that uses Microsoft’s HoloLens mixed reality headset to let guests walk into a tundra through holograms and spatialized sound. The experience, called Murmur: Arctic Realities , is set at a frozen marsh 80-miles north of the Arctic circle.

This technology is currently being used at the New England Air Museum?—?the Technology has, of course, been around for decades, and with that new art has been created with that in mind. Many museums already have projector rooms where they may show video-based pieces. Adding augmented reality would just be a major step up.
