Virtual Reality is a medium, or a media technology. Everything from AR to VR, with a bunch of MR in between, is collectively referred to as XR, or XR Technologies. It is assumed that XR-Technologies will become an important part of the culture, although many predictions have already gone wrong about how and when.

When I go to Cambodia, my body works the same as it did back in the US. I grab things and throw things the same way in Cambodia as I do at home in the Pacific Northwest. Spatial Media technologies allow us to extend and externalize this mental activity we all do together. Only apps and in-App messaging.
