Apple glasses are coming in 2021–2022 and they are incredibly sleek. This week, the analysts Ming-Chi Kuo has teased that Apple Glasses are coming in 2022 at the earliest (2022–2023 timeline). The rumors also talk about a headset coming in 2022 with AR/VR and another one coming in 2023 as a smartglass.

Lynx will start this Kickstarter campaign in September 2021 and expects to ship its consumer device in February 2022 (but remember that delays with Kickstarter are very frequent). Oculus plans to introduce in-app purchases to App Lab experiences. Plus, the Netflix app has been in VR since the times of Gear VR/Oculus Go.

Oculus Quest 2 had a great Christmas. The sales of Oculus Quest 2 have been great during the holidays , and the Quest has been a Christmas gift very much appreciated by kids (but wasn’t there an age limit?). I think that from the results of this battle, which will happen most probably in 2022, we will understand the trends that will drive the VR gaming market in all the upcoming years. Oculus has also partnered with Virtuclear to offer prescription lenses for the Quest 2 for $80.

The expected sales of these devices are around 3M units in 2023 for the first generation (to be launched at the end of 2022) and around 10M in 2024 for the second generation. It is a big showcase demo for its Unreal Engine 5, and I have to say it is pretty impressive. Epic Games releases Matrix Resurrections tie-in experience.
