In 1968, Ivan Sutherland and Bob Sproull created the first head-mounted display (HMD) system for immersive simulation applications. In 1991, the first cubic immersive room dubbed ‘the cave’ was developed by a PhD student in her thesis. Two years later, in 2014, Facebook bought Oculus VR company for 2 billion USD.
