Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) researchers unveiled a prototype motion controller recently which showcases experimental techniques into full hand tracking using machine learning and capacitive sensors. Like the Index controller, Sony’s prototype features an open-palm design using a wrist strap.

Indie studio Hyperbolic Magnetism announced ahead of the Sony conference that their VR rhythm game is on its way to PlayStation VR later this year. The game sold over 100,000 copies in its first month of availability on PC VR devices, and is set to launch on Sony’s platform with a new song, and potentially more content.

The sentence with which they have started the tease is “Big things are in motion here at Ultraleap”, which makes me think about something big that moves… may it be a new device to perform body tracking? According to a guy on Twitter that answered my post, Ultraleap should launch a new tracking controller this year.
