Sony Interactive Entertainment has finally announced that PSVR 2 will be launched on February 22nd, 2023 for $549. The collaboration between Microsoft and Samsung is now over. What will be important, anyway, will be the content.

Road To VR published some statistics comparing the sales of Quest and PSVR 2 on Amazon US over the holiday season, and the proportion of sold Quests to sold PSVR 2 is 30 to 1! Probably this is the final nail in the coffin of tethered VR, at least for what concerns broad consumer adoption. A far future, but an exciting future.
