European virtual reality (VR) solution Virtualware announced on Monday it had officially sponsored the Education Summit at the Unite Summit 2023. With the new sponsorship, the company aims to boost “the potential of immersive technology in industry and education,” it said in a statement.

Virtualware will also serve as the exclusive sponsor of the event to unite “Unity instructors and workforce development professionals,” according to a press release.

While at the conference, Virtualware will demo its VIROO virtual reality platform to show how universities and vocational training centres globally are leveraging its technologies.

Additionally, Virtualware also plans to join the event’s Unite Industry Executive Summit. Those attending can network with executives from global firms, showcasing the capabilities of Unity’s RT3D technologies.

It will also explore how the gaming engine can transform sales, marketing, operations, and other industry verticals.

For example, many leaders from the automotive, retail, transport, and manufacturing industries will share their success stories. Many of these companies were the first to integrate Unity’s digital twinning technologies to improve customer engagement and operations management for their businesses.

Latest Developments for Virtualware’s VIROO Platform

The announcement comes after Virtualware signed off on a massive multi-million dollar deal with a major energy supplier in the United States.

In the collaboration, the two companies inked a five-year renewable contract to integrate Virtualware’s solution to allow energy providers to quickly upskill their workforces prior to entering physical on-site locations.

Additionally, Virtualware struck a major deal with the El Salvadorian firm Corporación Digital SA de CV to support its employees with VIROO’s immersive training technologies.

Through the €1.6 million deal, the Central American firm will receive access to Virtualware’s VIROO tools along with six additional VIROO VR rooms for university campuses the client hosts across the country.

Using the immersive solution, Corporación Digital remains a member of the VIROO Partner Programme and continues to develop ICT projects and major audiovisual (AV) solutions nationally.

At the time of the announcement, Unai Extremo, Chief Executive and Founder, Virtualware, explained that he was “thrilled” the University of El Salvador could “improve the way people teach and learn” with VIROO.

Doing so allowed his company to build and deploy VR learning resources “autonomously,” leading to a “much simpler and valuable” VR content creation process.

Finally, a major highlight for the Spanish company arrived after Spain’s Administrator for Railway Infrastructure (ADIF) picked the VR training firm to launch its national railway VR simulator.

With it, ADIF workers can train to operate, build, and maintain their railway networks using the advanced system, preparing them for day one of entering Spain’s critical on-site infrastructure projects and initiatives.

This comes after ADIF poured €1 million into transforming its workforce by boosting employee competencies with VR training. Also, the ADIF integrated the tools to protect workers from operational risks, reduce costs, and enhance learner retention, among other things.

Virtualware Joins Unity’s Unite Summit

The Unite Summit 2023 will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from 15 to 16 November. Unity Technologies, the world’s biggest real-time 3D (RT3D) content creation platform, will rally enterprises and organisations worldwide to honour the global developer community.

It will also unite industry analysts, experts, and representatives from across the industry to showcase projects and virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR) innovations.

For the two-day conference, those attending in Amsterdam can check out the company’s latest technologies, join 30 ‘deep-dive’ sessions, and party with other guests. The event will offer experiences, keynote speeches, panel talks, and much more for people of all skill levels.

In addition to the 15 November Industry Executive Summit, Unity will also host a Games Executive Summit and an Education Summit. Each event will showcase how Unity’s world-class platform is enhancing creativity, productivity, and technological innovation across sectors.
