Tomorrow, to mark the potentially paradigm-shifting device, the Apple Vision Pro, Microsoft is officially launching immersive Office 365 and Co-Pilot software solutions ready for Apple’s US XR marketplace debut.

Starting tomorrow, the first wave of Vision Pro adopters can run Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Loop on the spatial computing device alongside integrated Co-Pilot features.

Users can soon download the services on the Vision Pro application store, whereby headset operators can access similar workplace productivity services such as Zoom. According to Microsoft, the firm has worked closely with Apple for “many years” to integrate 365 services on the iOS and realityOS platforms.

Microsoft 365 for Vision Pro: What’s New?

The 365 application portfolio for the Vision Pro comes with many tools to boost productivity and workplace multitasking by leveraging the device’s advertised infinite canvas.

Using Microsoft PowerPoint, Vision Pro users can create bespoke presentation slides. Vision Pro also allows operators to practice a presentation virtually, simulating the feeling of presenting to a crowd.

The Vision Pro also lets users ‘excel’ with their spreadsheet content creation. With integrated Excel features, users can create new documents and custom files using boundary-pushing 3D representations of Excel-based data. Moreover, the Vision Pro version of Excel allows users to quickly move spreadsheets to other documents or present them on Teams.

Speaking of Teams, the Vision Pro version of the esteemed video conferencing software allows device operators to meet, chat, call, collaborate, and engage with business processes within a spatial computing environment. Teams for Vision Pro also leverages the device’s unique Personas feature that creates an avatar of an operator based on facial tracking technology [notably, Zoom will also Apple personas, but which firm will see the most success?]

CoPilot Comes to Vision Pro

GenAI and XR are moving hand in hand. Microsoft is helping to lead this race, and with the Vision Pro software debut, the firm is allowing device operators to interact with an AI virtual assistant via text and voice commands without leaving a spatial computing environment.

Moreover, CoPilot for Vision Pro helps users draft, edit, summarize, and create 365 content. For example, CoPilot for Vision Pro allows users to create PowerPoint presentations based on a simple prompt or natural language command.

More Workplace Apps on Vision Pro

Another leading workplace app coming ready for the Vision Pro debut is Zoom. Zoom will also debut on February 2nd, prepared for US customers getting their on the Vision Pro headset.

Upon release, first-time headset users can access Zoom via the device’s dedicated digital app store.

According to Smita Hashim, Chief Product Officer at Zoom, Zoom on Apple Vision Pro will help team members and workers stay connected regardless of their location or mode of communication.

The integration of Zoom on Apple Vision Pro and realityOS extends Zoom’s promise of providing the ultimate meeting experience from anywhere. It also delivers on the company’s commitment to seamless collaboration and communication.

Ahead of the release, many workplace solution providers are debuting services on the device, including those from Adobe, Webex, and Notion. With the product ready with many productivity applications – both third and first-party – we may see Apple solve a prevailing issue with XR device adoption: system-selling apps potentially allowing Apple to drive XR into the enterprise.
