Extended reality (XR) firm ARuVR announced on Tuesday it had inked a massive deal with digital learning solutions provider Mintra.

To date, the Norwegian partner has offered its solution to more than 4,000 global companies. Many energy, maritime, and safety-focused industry workers rely on field service tools to empower their remote employees.

ARuVR’s award-winning platform will join forces to provide Mintra customers with immersive training modules. This will allow the Bergen-based firm to receive safe, effective, and on-demand training for its employees, no matter their location.

Maritime Work Secured with ARuVR

Using Mintra’s TrainingPortal platform, ARuVR can integrate its immersive training software for the maritime enterprise. This aims to provide insights into learner progress and retention over the course of their education.

Both firms will also team up to educate and test learners on their competencies and skill sets. This will offer employees a head start in their job responsibilities from day one and dramatically improve safety for workers at dangerous job sites.

With the XR tools, businesses and their employees can become more confident in their efforts while reducing carbon emissions, training costs, and travel expenses.

ARuVR also empowers enterprises with its no-code, device-agnostic platform for expansive interoperability across immersive devices. Using multichannel connectivity, the XR trainer can also connect with numerous students across the globe.

Maritime and energy sector employees rely on such solutions for their digital transformations and rapid upskilling of employees. This vital component to building efficiency, learner engagement, employee satisfaction, and autonomy is key to remote workforces.

Comments on ARuVR-Mintra Partnership

Kevin Short, Chief Executive, Mintra praised the partnership, stating,

“[It] gives Mintra a strategic advantage to support our growing global customer base with a leading technology solution which will play an integral part in our blended learning solution going forward. The team at ARuVR has developed a platform which fits perfectly with Mintra’s strategic vision”

Frank Furnari, Chief Executive and Founder, ARuVR added,

“Safety-critical and highly regulated industries are embracing training solutions to reduce training risk, drive efficiency and raise standards. Mintra has recognised that our AR and VR platform is the obvious next evolution of training and we look forward to developing this strategic partnership further.”

Continuing, Siren Berge, Chief Technology Officer, Mintra said that as the maritime and energy sectors experienced massive changes, it was key that “multi-format compliant training solutions keep pace.”

She concluded: “The partnership with ARuVR enables Mintra to support our customers with a solution which enriches the training experience while at the same time reduces risk and increases efficiency.”

ARuVR’s Spatial Strengths

The news comes as ARuVR expands its solutions after receiving learner accreditation from The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) in late May.

The institution awarded ARuVR Accredited Learning Technologies Provider Status — the most acclaimed and prestigious award for learning and development (L&D) workplace solutions.

The LPI’s high standards also evidence ARuVR’s commitment to providing top-quality immersive training solutions. This has led the company to become the UK’s first immersive service provider to the Government’s Crown Commercial Services.

Companies such as Coca-Cola, ScotRail, Amazon, British Telecom, Barilla, Five Guys, the Royal Airforce, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) have joined ARuVR’s roster of global clients.
