Oculus Quest gets hand tracking. Last week, the runtime v12 of Oculus Quest has been rolled out , and this took with it lots of interesting updates. To start, now the Oculus Link is more stable and it is compatible with some AMD GPUs. Oculus Quests have started getting vocal commands in the menu. Top news of the week.

Oculus Go price cut down to $150. Facebook has permanently cut down the price of the Oculus Go to $150 , the same price that made it sell incredibly well on Amazon during the Cyber Monday. When Magic Leap One was revealed, Rony Abovitz stated he was already working on Magic Leap Two and Three, for instance; Facebook believes a lot in having avatars that truly represent ourselves in XR , and it is a field in which they will invest a lot. Oculus Link official cable now available worldwide (but Quest is still soldout). Good news for all the Quest fans: the official Oculus Link cable is now available worldwide in 22 countries. Anyway, with future software updates of the Oculus runtime, the official cable will be able to exploit all the maximum speed possible.

Oculus Quest is available again in some countries. In some countries (not US), Oculus Quest and Rift S have got back in stock. If you’re interested in these devices, have a look at Amazon and Oculus websites. Oculus rolls out runtime v15 for Quest. The update also fixes many bugs with Oculus Link. Very handy.

I’d say that through at least 2022, the enterprise will account for the majority of augmented and mixed reality headsets like Hololens and Magic Leap. Or it’s going to take some more time?
