In my opinion , the true error is with the Vive 1 , that will get a price that is higher than the one of all the competitors… and that will cost as much as a Samsung Odyssey, notwithstanding its far lower features. The SDK offers native APIs, but also supports popular game engines like Unity and Unreal 4.

The Unity renderer implementation of foveated rendering, on the other hand is much rougher, and in multiple Unity apps I saw very obvious and harsh artifacts, particularly on text. Given this only happens in Unity Full Space apps, I suspect this can be solved in future software.

We are at the same level of Vive Focus or Vive Pro… probably the display is the same made by Samsung. This is the same chip of the Samsung S8 and it is not the latest available for VR: Qualcomm has already released the 845 VR reference design.
