AR is a widely used feature on smartphones now, while smart glasses are slowly growing, waiting for the big shots of 2023 (yes, Apple, I’m looking at you).

Apart from this, we had a few important announcements, like for instance: GTA San Andreas coming to Quest 2 Project Cambria : a hybrid AR/VR headset arriving next year. Somnium has never become popular like VRChat, but it has grown steadily in these months. 1 hour of a standing ovation for having highlighted this.

Some months ago, Road To VR unveiled that Canon was going to update its mixed reality offering with the Mreal MD-20, a high-quality passthrough AR headset that substituted the previous MD-10 model.

All the people that were working on AR/VR inside Facebook now have a new group they belong to: “Facebook Reality Labs”. This was the previous name of the AR/VR research division guided by Abrash, that now gets rebranded as “FRL Research”. There’s also a reference to a whiteboard that you can use together in AR/VR and in real life.
