TL;DR: You can get an Apple iPhone 13 on sale for up to $200 off with qualified activation (via Best Buy) as of May 24. Take your pick from the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, or the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The rumor mill may already be looking ahead to the (still unannounced) iPhone 14, but some new deals at Best Buy have us hung up on Apple's current smartphone lineup.

As of May 24, all four versions of the iPhone 13 are on sale there for up to $200 off with qualified activation. That includes the standard iPhone 13, the smaller iPhone 13 mini, the long-lasting iPhone 13 Pro, and the premium iPhone 13 Pro Max, with starting prices ranging from $699.99 to $999.99 depending on the model and service provider. (You can go with Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile, with installment plans and one-time payment options varying from carrier to carrier. Spoiler: AT&T's are generally the best.)

Note that some of those companies are offering higher discounts directly on their sites — both T-Mobile and Verizon will actually give you the 128GB iPhone 13 for free — but the catch is that they require a trade-in. If you're not trying to give up your old phone, or if you don't think it's worth very much, Best Buy's deals are the ones to beat.

Here's the lowdown:

iPhone 13

Apple's latest flagship phone won a Mashable's Choice Award upon its release last fall, with senior editor Stan Schroeder commending its improved battery life (up to 19 hours per charge), "very fast" A15 Bionic chip, brighter Super Retina XDR display, and starting storage capacity of 128GB. Its camera's new Cinematic mode is also "really cool," he added — "influencers will be all over this thing."

Choose from the following configurations:

  • 128GB$699.99 $799.99 (save $100) with an AT&T plan

  • 256GB$699.99 $899.99 (save $200) with an AT&T plan; $799.99 $899.99 (save $100) with a Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile plan

  • 512GB$899.99 $1,099.99 (save $200) with an AT&T plan; $999.99 $1,099.99 (save $100) with a Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile plan

iPhone 13 mini

The iPhone 13 mini is virtually identical to the regular iPhone 13, only with a slightly smaller screen (5.4 inches to the standard model's 6.1 inches) and a battery life that's two hours shorter. "If you're in love with its size — after using humongous phones for years, I am — it's a good option, but do know that it might not last a full day of intense usage," Schroeder noted.

Choose from the following configurations:

  • 128GB$499.99 $799.99 (save $200) with an AT&T plan; $599.99 $699.99 (save $100) with a Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile plan

  • 256GB$599.99 $799.99 (save $200) with an AT&T plan; $699.99 $799.99 (save $100) with a Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile plan

  • 512GB$899.99 $999.99 (save $100) with an AT&T plan

iPhone 13 Pro

The fancier iPhone 13 Pro features a 22-hour battery life, an IP68 rating (for water, splash, and dust resistance), a new camera setup with a telephoto lens and better low-light performance, and a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology and adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. (Whew.) It "should be your go-to smartphone option if you want reliable all-day battery life and an almost too-good-to-be-true trio of cameras," said deputy tech editor Joseph Volpe, though "its weight and high price tag hold it back from being a true top-tier recommendation." Fortunately for you, Best Buy has made the latter irrelevant.
