With a surprise move, Microsoft has announced that in 2022 it will integrate Microsoft Mesh, its framework to create shared XR experiences, inside Microsoft Teams. And if they have these features from Microsoft, they won’t need to get them from Meta.

If OpenAI wanted to slow down to have time to understand the consequences of this new type of AI, Microsoft would already ready be to hire all the talents of OpenAI and carry on AI developments by itself. Microsoft and Samsung may be partnering for an AR device. According to Korean media, Samsung Electronics is working with Microsoft on a new augmented/mixed reality project “involving HoloLens”. Samsung is one of the most famous suppliers of components for electronic devices (e.g. Samsung Odyssey+).
