A new FCC listing appears for an HTC Vive headset. And in fact, a new request to FCC for a new device has arrived from HTC. FCC certifications are requested before releasing an electronic device in the US (to certify that it is safe to be used), so this is a clear sign that HTC is going to release a new headset soon.

Microsoft announces Mesh, an XR collaboration platform. Alex Kipman promised us a Microsoft Ignite conference with an amazing level of immersion , and he kept his word. But since Microsoft owns one of those studios (and using it costs around $100K/day if I remember well!), You are all fantastic! Here you are my flower for you!

And while this is anyway a good result for a startup (developing an AR headsets means spending billions in R&D), targeting the consumer market has been a suicide move , that let Microsoft get full control of the profitable enterprise market. The VR route is instead being pursued by HTC (with its VEC event happening soon) and IEEE.

I wonder if Facebook has already taken the decision of leaving the enterprise market to HTC and Pico , while focusing on the much bigger piece of cake of the consumer market. Thanks Leywes for the tip). That’s a true pity, considering that both of these features would be incredibly important for businesses. Pretty amazing, isn’t it?
