Magic Leap finally dropped to mixed reviews and BrainXchange published its Definitive Guide to Adopting Wearables, AR and VR in Enterprise. The pilot, which used an iPad and HTC Vive powered by Marxent’s 3D Cloud Service, showed that VR increases average order value by 60%. The company’s direction is unclear.

“Apple has invented the glasses of the future” is probably what journals and magazines will say the day of launch, and all the various HoloLens , Magic Leap , etc… will be forgotten by mainstream media. I also see Oculus finally announcing a wireless accessory for the Rift S.

And I just found that was really the point of inflection in my life where I studied musical theater in college, I went to UCLA. and one of my friends who I just made by being nerdy, worked for a company called HTC. I’d say that through at least 2022, the enterprise will account for the majority of augmented and mixed reality headsets like Hololens and Magic Leap. I think the three-degrees-of-freedom [3Dof] sets — like the Go and the Samsung Gear VR before it — are very well-suited for video viewing, that sort of thing.
