These are pretty cool, also because the Snapdragon XR 2 is much more powerful than the 835 mounted by the Oculus Quest. Considering that this number doesn’t count the Quest users connected via Oculus Link, the actual number of VR users on Steam is even higher. and USB Type-C connectivity 2 hours of “active use” battery life.

This Year’s VR Hardware of the Year Award went to the Oculus Quest. The Oculus Rift S was also nominated for the award. The original Oculus Rift won the first VR Headset of the Year Award (not its own category this year) in 2017. That same year, Oculus Touch won VR Hardware of the Year. VR Experience of the Year.

While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. Huawei has upgraded its sleek VR glasses and now they support 6DOF movement and 6DOF controllers that are very similar to the Oculus Touch. Notwithstanding all this hate, the Oculus Quest 2 is selling very well. Other relevant news.

Today has been another interesting day: it has started with us running to try to enter the Cyberpunk 2077 booth (but with no luck) and has finished playing with an Oculus Go. It is a Korean company producing haptic devices for virtual reality. Playing with it is great, it is a bit like playing Unreal Tournament.

Unreal Engine 5 gets released in Early Access. After a lot of teasing of its upcoming fantastic features, Unreal Engine 5 is finally available for download. There is also a companion app (another thing copied from Oculus), through which you can buy the games (of course connected with Alipay and WeChat pay). Pa… Pa… Pa…treon!

Senseglove is an “affordable” enterprise haptic glove and it has just been upgraded to a version that is much more comfortable and usable than the last one. Sony and Verizon have partnered to create the next generation of VR concerts and have announced this partnership at CES. Senseglove Nova. The whole thing is incredible.
