It is a big showcase demo for its Unreal Engine 5, and I have to say it is pretty impressive. This gives more power to Google Glass, that are not doing that bad in the enterprise environment after a total disaster as a prosumer device. Oculus plans to introduce in-app purchases to App Lab experiences. Oculus App Lab has been introduced by Facebook to give a way to indie developers to publish their applications for Quest without the need of passing Facebook’s strong store curation. Plus, the Netflix app has been in VR since the times of Gear VR/Oculus Go.

Oculus Quest 2 had a great Christmas. The sales of Oculus Quest 2 have been great during the holidays , and the Quest has been a Christmas gift very much appreciated by kids (but wasn’t there an age limit?). Many Rift users reported problems in using the Oculus Store on PC this week , in particular in downloading games.

Everyone of us already knew that Gear VR was a platform almost abandoned when Oculus announced the Oculus Go. Anyway, officially, both Samsung and Oculus have continued at least to support it. These are pretty cool, also because the Snapdragon XR 2 is much more powerful than the 835 mounted by the Oculus Quest. New Steam hardware survey highlights that the number of VR headsets has grown again, and now according to Road To VR there are 1.6M Oculus Quest is sold out, and Coronavirus may make the situation even worse.
