Magic Leap has just organized its first developers’ event, dubbed “L.E.A.P.” It is the first event of this kind organized by Magic Leap: we can say that LEAP Con is like the Oculus Connect of Magic Leap and will probably become always more important, year after year, exactly as it has happened to Oculus.

It is a big showcase demo for its Unreal Engine 5, and I have to say it is pretty impressive. This gives more power to Google Glass, that are not doing that bad in the enterprise environment after a total disaster as a prosumer device. I think that, after a year, its specifications don’t sound exceptional anymore and maybe it is better that LG jumps directly to a second generation or that enters the standalone market (as it seems, since there are some rumors about a new revolutionary headset screen developed by Google and LG). The newest Steam Hardware Survey shows how Rift S has now more or less 8% of the market. Strategy Analytics highlights in his survey that mobile headsets like Daydream, Gear VR and Cardboard are continuously losing importance and revenue shares. In the end, XRDC has made a very interesting survey among XR devs.
