After a few days where we thought we were all living in a big oven, here in Italy we’re having the first taste of Autumn, with the temperatures going down and a lot of rain falling from the sky. Google is working in parallel to build the Android XR operating system for this headset and a Micro XR operating system for AR glasses.

Top news of the week (Image by Google) Samsung XR headset may have been delayed The new rumor in town is that Samsung has delayed its upcoming headset that it is building in partnership with Google and Qualcomm. The report in particular talks about “design and displays” as areas where the review process will take place.

So the next 2–3 weeks are going to be crazy for me, so sorry if I will make the comments on the newsletter a bit shorter than usual. On the personal side, I’m a bit devasted by the flood that happened in central Italy. Magic Leap has factories in the US and Mexico able to produce AR glasses.

As a long-time AR enthusiast, and one of the first to have tried Google Glass in Italy, I have to admit that I will consider AR mainstream only when it will be on glasses that we will wear all day , when we’ll live in a completely shared mixed reality world (the AR Cloud). Magic Leap will meet its fate.
