Google and Magic Leap have partnered to “advance the potential of XR technologies”, the latter has said in a blog post. The announcement was light on detail, but Magic Leap said the tie-up would combine its AR credentials with Google’s technology platforms. Google is already an investor in Magic Leap.

More info Meta may partner soon with Magic Leap The Financial Times this week reported a very unexpected piece of news: Meta may be working on a partnership with Magic Leap for the production of AR glasses. Magic Leap has factories in the US and Mexico able to produce AR glasses.

OMG, it’s almost 3 years that I write these roundups… the first week peek was exclusive for my blog subscribers and it featured as best news the release of Google Blocks and in the other news something about Samsung Gear VR… how much time has passed since then! Magic Leap raises other $350M. It would be very intriguing….

I think the three-degrees-of-freedom [3Dof] sets — like the Go and the Samsung Gear VR before it — are very well-suited for video viewing, that sort of thing.
