New Oculus Venues gives us a glimpse of Facebook Horizon. Without previous notice, Facebook has started rolling out a new version of Oculus Venues, for now available only to selected beta users. Is The Sony XRperia coming? Sony has just published a job offer looking for professionals to build an XR headset.

Especially the first feature made most people go in awe : volumetric videos are very expensive, so they’re typically not used during XR events. The result was the one of having Alex Kipman as if he was really in front of you , a fantastic immersive feature for an XR event. they had no problems in using it. News worth a mention.

These are pretty cool, also because the Snapdragon XR 2 is much more powerful than the 835 mounted by the Oculus Quest. Considering that this number doesn’t count the Quest users connected via Oculus Link, the actual number of VR users on Steam is even higher. and USB Type-C connectivity 2 hours of “active use” battery life.

Unreal Engine 5 gets released in Early Access. After a lot of teasing of its upcoming fantastic features, Unreal Engine 5 is finally available for download. There is also a companion app (another thing copied from Oculus), through which you can buy the games (of course connected with Alipay and WeChat pay).

The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) wisely switched to a virtual format this year, and while the event organizers did an excellent job, I knew that some of my favorite aspects of the CES experience would be missing. New Show, Who Dis? It was a stark departure from the usual 20,000 steps/day through a sea of 300,000 tech enthusiasts.
