Meta's CTO shot down the prospect of a Quest 3 eye tracking add-on. When asked directly whether Quest 3 could see an eye tracking and/or face tracking add-on in the future during an Instagram AMA (ask me anything) session this week, Andrew Bosworth replied: "There's not really a credible way to do eye tracking or upper-face tracking underneath the headset as an accessory.

As AMD is now well into their third generation of RDNA architecture GPUs, the sun has been slowly setting on AMD’s remaining Graphics Core Next (GCN) designs, better known by the architecture names of Polaris and Vega. In recent weeks the company dropped support for those GPU architectures in their open source Vulkan Linux driver , AMDVLK, and now we have confirmation that the company is slowly winding down support for these architectures in their Windows drivers as well.

Samsung plans to launch its XR headset in limited quantities in late 2024. South Korean newspaper The JoongAng reports Samsung is planning to announce the headset at an event in the second half of 2024, then launch it in December with a limited initial quantity of just 30,000 units. UploadVR can independently confirm that Samsung told developers it plans to launch in late 2024.

ByteDance emailed UploadVR a statement about its plans for the future of its VR headsets amid shutdown questions for its Pico brand.
