Flat2VR, the modding team known for bringing unofficial VR support to games such as Final Fantasy XIV, Half-Life 2, Jedi Outcast, and Left 4 Dead 2 , recently released a mod for Portal 2 which finally brings SteamVR support to the iconic puzzle game. [link] The mod is free, and posted to Giovanni ‘Gistix’ Correia’s Github , a contributing member of Flat2VR.

More reports are coming out about Meta ahead of its annual Connect event. Recently, Meta handed out free Quest Pro MR headsets at the recent Roblox Developer Conference (RDC) 2023, an XR showcase event highlighting how the child-focused gaming platform is going fully immersive and expanding its offerings to suit new use cases. The news comes as the MR headset failed to capture audiences last year, with understated sales and a price drop that lowered the device to £1000.

AMD this morning is releasing the fourth and final member of its 4 th generation EPYC processor family, the EPYC 8004 series. Previously disclosed under the codename Siena, the EPYC 8004 series is AMD’s low-cost sub-set of EPYC CPUs, aimed at the telco, edge, and other price and efficiency-sensitive marketing segments. Based on the same Zen4c cores as Bergamo, Siena is basically Bergamo-light, using the same hardware to offer server processors with between 8 and 64 CPU cores.

Meta is killing off two first-party original Oculus Quest launch titles next year. The company sent out emails to all owners of Bogo and Dead And Buried II on Friday to inform them that these apps will "end services" and "no longer be supported" after 15 March 2024, five years after they launched. The Meta Quest platform policies require developers to give customers at least 180 days notice before shutting down an app, so this appears to be Meta complying with its own policy.
