When we initially reviewed the latest Ryzen 8000G APUs from AMD last month, the Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G , we became aware of an issue that caused the APUs to throttle after a few minutes. This posed an issue for a couple of reasons, the first being it compromised our data to reflect the true capabilities of the processors, and the second, it highlighted an issue that AMD forgot to disable from their mobile series of Pheonix chips (Ryzen 7040) when implementing it over to the desktop.

Meta now has three mixed reality headsets, but still not a ton of mixed reality content to go with it. To remedy that, the company threw out an open source Unity demo it hopes to showcase some of the most compelling things you can do in MR. Called Cryptic Cabinet , the escape room demo was designed to highlight the capabilities of the company’s MR Presence Platform on Quest, which Meta says can transform any room into a unique and immersive gameplay experience.

Is Vision Pro the superior headset? For hand tracking developer Dennys Kuhnert, not really. For testing, however, he does wear the Apple headset as his under-layer and hold the Quest 3 up as his outer-layer. Yeah, you read that right. The developer has taken to wearing Vision Pro and then holding Quest 3 up to the Apple headset as a secondary passthrough system to quickly eyeball software on both devices.

The 256GB model of Quest 2 is either out of stock or completely delisted at Meta.com and almost all retailers. Quest 2 is available in two models, one with 128GB storage and another with 256GB storage. There was originally a 64GB model, but it was replaced by the 128GB one in 2021. When launching Quest 3 in October Meta did not retire Quest 2. Instead, it continues to be sold as a lower-cost alternative, and its price was soon after cut to $250 for the 128GB model and $300 for the 256GB model.
