Meta announced it’s reducing age requirements for Quest users, bringing the previous 13+ minimum down to 10+. The company says the policy change will come alongside new parent-managed accounts for Quest 2 and the upcoming Quest 3, which the company says will help keep preteens safe. As anyone who has dipped their toes into social VR apps such as Rec Room or VRChat can probably attest, young kids are broadly already using VR headsets.

Steam Next Fest kicks off a new celebration this week featuring over 30 PC VR demos. Steam Next Fest highlights upcoming games through various demos for the second time in 2023, following its last appearance in February. Encompassing all forms of PC gaming with nearly 1300 demos, there are 33 options available specifically for SteamVR. Most games don’t have a confirmed release date beyond “coming soon” or later this year, and there are a few noticeable highlights.

Don't expect an Xbox headset anytime soon, as Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty says he's waiting for a bigger audience in AR and VR. Between PSVR 2 and recent announcements for both Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro , it was perhaps inevitable that the Xbox VR question would appear once again. Asked by the Hollywood Reporter about expanding into AR and VR gaming, Booty suggested Xbox games need 10 million players to be considered successful, and he believes the audience is "not quite there yet"
