MyDearest, the Japan-based studio behind the Tokyo Chronos VR series, revealed it’s next VR game, a team shooter called Brazen Blaze. The studio describes Brazen Blaze as a “3v3 smack & shoot VR action with a heavy focus on close quarter melee combat.” You’ll be able to “choose from a variety of characters with unique skills to destroy whatever lies in your path to achieve victory,” the game’s Steam page reads.

Metaverse AI innovations could be the answer to the problems innovators are facing today. Hype for the metaverse peaked last year after Facebook rebranded to “Meta”. Analysts even began predicting a lucrative future for metaverse technologies. According to Grandview Research, the global metaverse market will grow by around 41.6% CAGR up to 2030. Yet despite ambitious investors and innovators, it still feels like a true “metaverse” experience is decades away.

Minisforum continues to diversify its business beyond compact PCs and this week it introduced a rather unusual Mini-ITX motherboard with an MXM slot. Typically used for graphics cards, Minisforum's Eyertec AD650i motherboard instead comes with an MXM adapter to house up to three M.2 SSDs. All together, the Mini-ITX board is able to drive 4 M.2 SSDs, as well as a couple of SATA SSDs for good measure.

Connect is the news of the month. As September moves along, Meta is prepping its immersive product portfolio for a refresh showcase during the event later this month. Meta is moving towards MR headsets instead of purely VR devices. This year saw massive interest in MR headsets following Apple’s Vision Pro debut, and Meta looks to own the space following its experience with MR via its Pro headset.

Created by the same team behind the Bigscreen Beta VR app , Bigscreen Beyond is a tethered PC VR headset that uses Valve’s SteamVR tracking standard. Priced at $1,000, the headset makes for an interesting value proposition for users already hooked into the SteamVR hardware ecosystem, offering up a slim design thanks to the inclusion of pancake lenses and micro-OLEDs.
