The time has finally come: on the last day of 2023, Praydog has released to the world his first version of UEVR, a universal VR mod for all games made with Unreal Engine. It means that you can take whatever game made in Unreal Engine for flatscreen, apply this universal mod, and immediately transform it into a VR game!

This week in XR hasn’t had any explosive news, but it was interesting nonetheless: in particular we had cool info on AR glasses, with some news from Kura, Lynx, and Samsung. Samsung AR glasses concept has been leaked. Popular Twitter leaker WalkingCat has leaked two trailer videos about two AR glasses by Samsung.

Riding the wave of excitement over Google’s new VR platform, Daydream, Epic Games CTO Kim Libreri announced on the Google I/O stage today that the gaming giant has brought support for Daydream to Unreal Engine 4. In a collaboration with Hardsuit Labs on the plugin, Epic Games has made Unreal Engine 4 support for Daydream available now.

Some people are migrating to Unreal Engine or Godot. The posts on social media and on the blogs of gaming studios and platforms (including SideQuest) in which people express their disappointment are countless. Others have stopped using Unity Ads, Unity’s main source of revenue. Others have even threatened the safety of the employees.
