Augmented Reality in 2018. You may hate or love Magic Leap, but the fact that it has released a product is for sure a great news for all the ecosystem : if after all those investments, that startup failed, it would have had a ripple effect on all the ecosystem, making investors lose trust in augmented reality.

But to summarize, the most important XR-related tidbits have been: Google confirmed that is still working with Qualcomm and Samsung to build an XR headset.

Something to note, all nominees had to be centered on a virtual reality experience, and not an augmented reality experience.

It seems cool, but I would like to try it to believe in it: all the times that someone promised me some kind of sensory magic, it never turned out so good as they told me (like with the phantom touch sensation that Leap Motion told me about ). Google halves its revenues on the Play Store. Some XR fun.

Presenz also offers a Unity plugin so that you can import this render file in Unity and so mix the resulting volumetric video with some real-time interactions that you add in the game engine. A guy and a girl from Prague showcased in Stereopsia a simple demo where you could play the piano with a Vive with a Leap Motion mounted on.
