Reports have revealed that Apple could potentially ramp up work on a pair of augmented reality (AR) smart glasses that could support the release of the company’s Vision Pro headset. With the proposed smart glasses, Apple fans may tether the devices to their iPhones similarly to others like its Watch and AirPods wearables.

This seems to hint that the two companies are going to build a new XR headset together, which according to the rumors will be the Quest Pro 2, which would be aimed at competing directly with the Apple Vision Pro. This could be useful to let Meta answer to the movies available on the Apple Vision Pro because of Apple TV.

It has now an agreement with Plessey, a company working on MicroLED displays, and that was previously one of the acquisition goals of the competitor Apple. Apple strikes deal for indoor maps and buys NextVR. This has been a great week for competition in the AR space since also Apple has performed some interesting moves.

Mr.Kuo is so confident in its prediction that he can even claim who is the producer of the chassis of the glass, that is not Apple itself, but Chinese company Changying Precision. Even the big players like Sony, Apple, and Microsoft have substantially reduced their production estimates for 2022, whilst processor manufacturers talk of delays into 2024.
