Examples are HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Cardboard and other that are now very popular VR platforms for building experiences. WebVR is also becoming a formidable force for those who love HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard, in a web browser. I tried to enroll on this one and it feels easy to sign up and undertake.

We were the first ones using pass through on the HTC Vive , using a portal to get in your scenario, we were the first ones with hand tracking on VR headsets where you could flip switches, turn knobs, and push buttons in a VR world overlay. For 360 video we use Oculus Go, because a Vive Index would be an overkill. An Innovation center.

Users can use HMD devices such as Google Cardboard, Oculus Quest, Rift or HTC Vive to experience an imaginary environment. ARKit — ARKit is one of the powerful AR SDK released by Apple on 2017 to build AR solutions using iOS devices. Salesforce uses Oculus Rift to create an immersive 3D environment for analyzing data.

This seems to hint that the two companies are going to build a new XR headset together, which according to the rumors will be the Quest Pro 2, which would be aimed at competing directly with the Apple Vision Pro. This could be useful to let Meta answer to the movies available on the Apple Vision Pro because of Apple TV.

When you think about things like intelligent assistants, we have embedded services like Siri from Apple, Google Home, Amazon Echo with Alexa. Facebook has Oculus.

In the book they talk about XR and AI , and how they could impact our future, for the good and the bad.

It has now an agreement with Plessey, a company working on MicroLED displays, and that was previously one of the acquisition goals of the competitor Apple. Apple strikes deal for indoor maps and buys NextVR. This has been a great week for competition in the AR space since also Apple has performed some interesting moves.
