But the more you stay there, the more you notice that there are differences. Taiwanese people are more chill and more open towards the West. In Taiwan, all western websites work and so you don’t need to set up a VPN just to use Google. In my visit, I tried a lot of AR/VR experiences , most of them just for few minutes.

But having seen Google taking a similar route, releasing a faceplate to add 6DOF controller tracking for Mirage Solo , I think that both companies realized that the hardware solution was a better solution at the moment. The last two ones are the one that I like the most. The XCOL app is cross-platform and works very well.

All the people that were working on AR/VR inside Facebook now have a new group they belong to: “Facebook Reality Labs”. This was the previous name of the AR/VR research division guided by Abrash, that now gets rebranded as “FRL Research”. There’s also a reference to a whiteboard that you can use together in AR/VR and in real life.

I mean, it is quite impossible that in a documentation updated to support a new headset with new controllers, the only things that get shown are the headset name and the controllers’ name and nothing else (not even if the controllers support fingers tracking, for instance).
