Magic Leap finally dropped to mixed reviews and BrainXchange published its Definitive Guide to Adopting Wearables, AR and VR in Enterprise. After years of secrecy and hype, Magic Leap finally released its first developer kit in August for $2,295. The company’s direction is unclear.

Microsoft and Samsung may be partnering for an AR device. According to Korean media, Samsung Electronics is working with Microsoft on a new augmented/mixed reality project “involving HoloLens”. Samsung is one of the most famous suppliers of components for electronic devices (e.g. Samsung Odyssey+).

However, let me clarify: the Netflix VR app (which has been available on Samsung Gear VR since September 2015) and the new HBO VR app (exclusive to Daydream) are 360 degree virtual reality living rooms in which you can watch any traditional 2D media from each platform’s library… on a virtual television hanging on your virtual wall.

But at the presentation of the latest Samsung Note 10, for the first time after the Note 4, Samsung has dropped support for Gear VR in its latest flagship device. And Samsung is not abandoning XR for sure.

But I think the companies that Microsoft included in the survey were those large companies that have innovation offices. Alan: Amazing.
