Sony invests $250M in Epic Games. Sony has announced that it has made a big investment of $250M in Epic Games through one of its subsidiaries. The investment gives Sony a minority stake in Epic that now is evaluated at more than $17B. And Sony for sure wants to have a stake in the metaverse. Top news of the week.

These are huge numbers for VR: if you look at the most recent SteamVR survey, you get that Oculus headsets are now at 67% of the whole PCVR market. This is amazing for us developers, but unluckily it is a feature tied to using the Oculus SDK, which is not cross-platform. Sony acquires Bungie and thinks about Capcom.

I can’t guarantee that these predictions will come out to be true (I always joke about the fact that I miss many of the predictions about Meta/Oculus), but I think they will be worth reading anyway to understand what can be the trends to look for in this new year. Me wearing my branded Oculus Quest 2. So… let’s start!

It doesn’t seem to be on par with the Oculus Quest 2, but as a first device by Nolo, it is not that bad. But what I have learned in the past is that a headset must be tried and numbers never tell the full story, so I hope I can try this to tell you how good it is. It looks like a refreshed Vive Focus Plus.
