Its strategy is more akin to wanting to be a second Apple than what Google did with Android. But Meta's strategy also harms its reported own long-term goal of being an Android-like player. It's even possible that new entrants ike Amazon or Valve could change the landscape entirely.

The only company not much affected by it is HTC, that manufacturers its headsets in Taiwan and not in Mainland China. HTC Vive releases Cosmos Elite, two models of Vive Pro Eye and creates some confusion. For sure you remember the recent launch of a full line of Vive Cosmos headsets , all with customized faceplates.

This week has been pretty crazy: It all started with Facebook approving my silly The Unity Cube application (an application with just a cube) on App Lab. Image by HTC Vive). HTC is teasing a new headset. HTC is teasing a new piece of hardware again, and this time most probably it will be a VR headset. Not much, honestly.
