But as far as I know, nothing disruptive for the industry : Oculus has already shots all its bullets, and HTC for the first time isn’t announcing anything. That said, I’m very bullish about Apple and expect it to be a lot bigger by 2030 than it is today, because of this strategical shift underway. In front of you will be two 8K Sony chips, I hear. If you haven’t seen a Microsoft Hololens or a Magic Leap you probably have no clue about how amazing this will be.

Think about what happened to VR: we had the Oculus devkits, which interested only us developers. So whenever I see market predictions about immersive realities that arrive to 2030, I think they have the same reliability as the horoscope. I nnovation usually doesn’t follow a linear route, but goes through sprints and disruptions.

Then of course Sony didn’t match this prediction, and the day after the analysts were shouting that PSVR had been a disappointing failure… where actually they should have said that they sucked at market analysis and they should have gone hoeing the soil. I mean, Zuck always said that his vision was at 2030 and beyond.
