Despite Apple’s insistence that I do not wear Apple Vision Pro with my prescription glasses, I wanted to know if I could , so I could determine if I should. Some headsets like the Oculus Go and original PSVR seemed to be built specifically to handle glasses of many shapes and sizes due to its roomy face box size.

Every year, we have the same ritual: we wait for an event by Apple, hoping to hear some news about an upcoming XR device, then nothing happens in this sense, we are disappointed and so we hope for a new reveal next year. The historical moment of the launch of Quest 1 (Image by TechCrunch) Oculus Quest 1 launched in 2019 for $399. And Quest 2 is much cheaper (especially now that has been put at $199): during the last holidays, it outperformed the Quest 3 by a factor 3:1 on Amazon US. So I see Holiday 2024 as the trampoline for Quest 3.

But things on the consumers’ side may not be going as well: according to some data scrapped from Amazon, the Quest 2 outsold the Quest 3 by a factor of 3:1 in the last 30 days. This would show the level of polish of the upcoming Apple headset. THREE TO ONE.

Meta is reportedly optimistic about the release of Apple Vision Pro, seeing itself as the future Android of the market. The Wall Street Journal cites "people familiar with their thinking" as saying that Meta executives believe Apple's entry into the market will "validate Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble and draw more consumers".

Considering the leaks on Amazon and MediaMarkt, the device will probably be available starting from October, 10th, 2023. You can see that the user is holding a Touch Plus controller (with the Oculus logo on the home button as some devkits have) confirming this. It’s a big bet, and I think Zuck doesn’t want to make it wrong.
