In the end, I still believe in the old predictions of Unity CEO John Riccitiello: Look at this graph shown by Mr. Riccitiello in 2017: the purple line is the one of the analysts, while the white one is the one forecasted by him. We won’t see a true disruptive headset probably until 2022-2023.

At first, we had good news: Unity finally revealed its first two AI tools: Muse, which lets you create assets (textures, animations, code) directly in the editor using textual queries. Muse looks a lot like ChatGPT integrated inside Unity.

VR in 2022-2023 will definitely enter the mainstream market , and I wonder if it will just be because of Quest or there will be some other devices. I don’t think we’ll see the launch of a Quest 3 this year (it would compete directly with Cambria), but I think we’ll see some revelations about it, and a 2023 release.
