An Epic Games MegaGrant Brought VIRTUOSO SDK to the Unity World. In August 2020, Charles Rivers Analytics received a MegaGrant from Epic Games, allowing the SDK to become fully integrated into the company’s game developing eco-system. It currently supports the following devices and XR systems: SteamVR: HTC Vive and Windows MR headsets.

In my unboxing video, you may see that I’ve found an additional Leap Motion v1 controller + Leap Motion mount for RealMax + USB-C cable for Leap Motion. Since having a 3DOF controller with a 6DOF headset is weird (HTC and Lenovo know this well), RealMax has decided to add also support for Leap Motion.

It seems cool, but I would like to try it to believe in it: all the times that someone promised me some kind of sensory magic, it never turned out so good as they told me (like with the phantom touch sensation that Leap Motion told me about ). Vive Facial Tracker works also with non-HTC headsets. As long as it works….

Unity is offering 3 months of Free Learning so that you can sharp your development skills. In the meantime, even HTC that was safe until now is having troubles in manufacturing the external tracking faceplate , whose release date will be delayed. Q2 2020 will see a year-over-year decrease in shipments of more than 24%.

HTC has actually released that for the Vive Focus Plus … Well, according to the god John Carmack , it is something about which the company has discussed a lot and has also experimented a lot. Starting from early next year (2020), in beta for consumers and developers, it will be possible to use your bare hands within the Oculus Quest.
