YouTube VR Creator Lab is Coming to London

YouTube’s 3-month workshop heads to Europe for the first time.

Since launching the VR Creator Lab alongside YouTube last year, we’ve seen some of the brightest up-and-coming content creators come together to push the boundaries of immersive filmmaking. Earlier this year we introduced the VR180 workshop in LA, exposing talented creatives to the VR180 format.

Now VR Creator Lab is be heading across the pond to help support and educate European creators.

Taking place September 18th – 20th in London, the three-day intensive “bootcamp” will expose participants to the ins and outs of shooting 180-degree VR content. In addition, those chosen for the program will receive $30,000$40,000 USD in support of their VR project, as well as three months of official training from leading VR instructors and filmmakers.

Think you may have what it takes? Applications for European-based creators are open now through August 6, 2018, 5pm British Summer TimeApply Here

There are a few criteria to consider in order to qualify for selection.

You can either be a YouTube creator with at least 10,000 subscribers, OR you can be an independent filmmaker (ie. not tied to a larger production company or agency with more than 15 employees) who has preferably had previous work screened at a film or interactive media festival.

Creators or independent filmmakers must be 18+ years old in order to participate. Candidates will be chosen based on the their idea pitch, as well an estimation of their ability to complete the project within a three month deadline.
