Based on real events in 1980s South Africa, Mandlakayise Walter Dube's Silverton Siege follows a trio of freedom fighters who take refuge in a bank while fleeing the police, only to end up in a tense hostage situation.

Their demand? The immediate release of Nelson Mandela.

Starring Thabo Rametsi, Noxolo Dlamini, and Stefan Erasmus, and Arnold Vosloo, Silverton Siege follows the beginnings of the Free Mandela movement, which eventually led to Mandela's 1990 release from prison.

Silverton Siege will land on Netflix April 27 to coincide with South Africa's Freedom Day.
